Bible Memorization

Memorizing the Bible - one of things in life that really is important.
It takes time...sure... but time WELL spent. Time learning more of God's word...implanting it into your life... it's the word of God...our daily bread... and the more we memorize, the more we learn. The more in situations...we can be able to say, "Oh! I know a great verse that applies with this!"
It's a constant thing you have to do... you can't just memorize a few verses one day, then the next day, give up and forget everything.
It's a daily thing. Constantly quoting scripture. Constantly reading it. Constantly learning more about God.
Memorizing the Bible IS important. It's very important.
The Bible says to always be ready to give an answer to those who ask (1 Peter 3:15, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have). And how else can we do that then by KNOWING God's word?
...Take the time to learn God's word.

Quiet Time With God

     Can I just say this?
Spending time in God's word, prayer and listening to THE most important part of the day.
Sometimes it's hard to find time.. but we find time to check facebook right? How about talk to your friend on the phone? There is always time for God's word. And nothing is more important then seeking Christ in everything.
Take the time. God has given you so much... can't you just give Him a few minutes (at minimum) of your time in return?
Isaiah 55:6, "Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near"
Do it. Find a place away from distraction. Bring your Bible.... spend time with God... I can promise you won't regret it. Seek God. Strive to learn more about Him and his goodness.
     Take the time.

Count It All Joy

It's very likely I've posted pretty much this same post before... I can't remember. ;)

Do we count it all joy when the going gets tough? When life is hard...are we praising God? Or do we only praise Him when everything is going how we want it?
James 1:2-3, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
I absolutely love the song, Count it All Joy.
Lord I'll count it all joy
When my troubles
Close me in on every side
Lord I'll count it all joy
When this road of faith
Runs through the darkest night
For I know You're at work in me
Yes I know You'll provide
All the grace I need

You have always been my Rock
I will trust You forever forever
You have never failed me God
I will trust You forever forever

Lord I'll count it all joy
When the weight of sorrow
Drives me to my knees
Every heartache and pain
In Your mighty hands
Is forming Christ in me
And I know that Your Word is true
Yes I know every trial
Will only prov

Count it all joy - in the good. And in the bad.
Are you up for the challenge?
With God's can count it all joy!

So many questions

In life we always have questions.
Questions about what will happen in life.
Questions why things happen.
Questions...we don't know the answer to.
The most wonderful thing about that? God doesn't have those questions!
I love this song. So simple. So powerful. God  is in control and we don't need to know the answers.

How small is your strength

This isn't a long post...I don't have a lot of time.
But a verse that's definitely been on my mind a lot lately is Proverbs 24:10, "If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength"
That's really powerful. I mean. Really.
Don't give up just because the going gets tough. To those who have been saved by grace...Christ is there in the good and the bad.
Don't just praise God in the good.
Praise Him in the hard.

We will never forget.

‎10 years ago today - A day that will never be forgotten. So many lost their lives on that day. But God's mercy never ceases, and He is our rock eternal. In the hard times and easy. Praise God for that!
Let's not forget those who gave there lives to save others. Those who lost loved ones on that day. And our God and Savior who reigns forever eternally and has a plan and purpose for every moment in history, small or something as big as what happened on September 11th.

No. Really. It's how I cook.

As you can see... I can't cook... at all. :D

First Impressions - the movie

Some friends of mine are putting a lot of work and effort into making what looks to be a super awesome movie. :) Kind of a modern pride and prejudice thing.

Check it out!
